Casa de Olas is an off-grid property.  Our water arrives by truck, our power comes from the sun, and our propane is delivered just like everything else out here—thoughtfully and in limited supply. We kindly ask for your help in keeping these resources flowing smoothly for everyone:

 Lights, fans, and air conditioning are a gift from the sun—please switch them off when leaving a room.  During the warmer summer months, feel free to cool your bedroom to a comfortable 23–25 °C just before bedtime, then turn the AC off in the morning so the batteries can recharge fully during the day. This small habit makes a huge difference and provides cool rooms in the evenings for sleeping.

A gentle reminder about safety and fun

If you enjoy a fresh margarita, cocktail or cold cerveza, please choose a designated driver who hasn’t been drinking before using any of our vehicles (special permission required). Seat belts are there for everyone, so kindly keep passengers equal to the number of seats and belts. Your safety—and the safety of this beautiful place—means the world to us. If you think the driver has been drinking, it’s your responsibility not to get in the vehicle.

That’s truly all we ask. Everything else is about relaxing, whale watching, exploring, surfing, snorkeling, stargazing, or simply doing absolutely nothing at all with the ocean in front of you.
